In 1976 Martin and Sheila tragically lost their eldest son Richard to leukaemia. The medical and support staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital did an amazing job caring for Richard and the family during his illness and after he died. Martin and Sheila continued to support Great Ormond Street Hospital with charitable donations over the years, and Martin would be so touched to know this great cause could now be recognised further in his own memory.
